Breathability ExplainedUpdated 3 months ago

Breathability is an important factor in selecting the right jacket for you, as it will allow you to stay comfortable and dry.

What is Breathability?

Breathability refers to a fabric's ability to let moisture vapor (like sweat) escape while preventing water from entering. It regulates body temperature and keeps you comfortable during your ride or run!

Understanding Breathability Ratings:

Breathability ratings assess how effectively clothing transports moisture. The breathability rating on our clothing measures how much water vapor passes through the fabric in grams per square meter per 24 hours (g/m²/24h). The higher the value, the greater the breathability.

  • Excellent Breathability: Ratings above 15,000 g/m²/24h - ideal for intense activities.
  • Good Breathability: Ratings between 10,000 and 15,000 g/m²/24h - Suitable for moderate activities.
  • Moderate Breathability: Ratings between 5,000 and 10,000 g/m²/24h  -  Suitable for less strenuous activities or cooler weather.
  • Limited Breathability: Ratings below 5,000 g/m²/24h - More suitable for casual use or outer layers in wet environments.
